Sisterlocks installation is a time-intensive process, and that's exactly as it should be. Depending on your hair length, thickness, and the number of locs being created, a full installation typically takes between 12 and 36 hours — spread across multiple sessions. We'll discuss the timeline during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect.
For Sisterlocks, most clients come in every 4–6 weeks in the early stages of their journey. As your locs mature and settle, the interval can stretch to every 6–8 weeks. I'll advise you on the right schedule for your hair during our sessions — every head is different.
Absolutely not — when installed and maintained correctly, Sisterlocks are one of the gentlest loc systems available. They work with your natural hair texture and require no chemical treatments, no glue, and no excessive tension. In fact, many clients find their hair becomes healthier over time. The key is proper installation and consistent care, which is exactly what I provide.
Sisterlocks are much smaller and more uniform than traditional locs, created using a patented interlocking tool technique. They offer incredible versatility — you can wear them in updos, roller sets, and styles you simply can't achieve with larger locs. Traditional locs are typically larger, created by twisting or palm-rolling, and have a different aesthetic and styling range. Both are beautiful; which is right for you depends on your hair and lifestyle — we'll explore that together in your consultation.
Yes — and I'm glad you asked! A consultation is an essential first step. It gives me the chance to properly assess your hair texture, density, and health; to understand your lifestyle and expectations; and to give you a fully honest picture of what your loc journey will look like. It also gives you the chance to ask every question you have before committing. I never rush this process — your journey starts here.
Good home care makes all the difference! I'll provide personalised aftercare guidance after every appointment. Generally, this includes keeping locs clean with an appropriate shampoo, moisturising regularly, sleeping with a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase, and avoiding products that cause build-up. You won't be left guessing — I'm always available via WhatsApp if a question pops up between visits.

Please wash your hair 24–48 hours before your appointment using clarifying shampoo only. No conditioner, oils, or products should be applied after washing.
A washing fee applies if your hair has not been washed before your appointment. Please ensure your hair is clean and product-free when you arrive.
A standard retightening session covers up to 3 hours. Additional charges apply per hour for excessive new growth, slippage, or repairs beyond the standard session.
A deposit is required to secure your booking if you are a new client. This will be confirmed and discussed at the time of booking.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required. Thank you for your understanding.
